This figure depicts Corran Horn in his flightsuit, as described in the NJO novel Star by Star.
Parts: Head (Dash Rendar), Torso (Han Solo from the Princess Leia Collection 2-pack), Arms (Jedi Duel Obi-Wan Kenobi), Legs (Deluxe Darth Maul), Blaster & Holster (Bespin Capture Han Solo), Lightsaber (any).
Supplies: X-acto knife, emery board or file, super glue, Testors Dull-Cote, Paints and Brushes.
Reference: I used Star Wars Insider #57 as a reference for Corran's appearance. Past references to Corran's uniforms indicate that he usually wore green and black.
Step One: I assembled the necessary parts using the boiling water method and then allowed the figure to cool completely.
Step Two: I trimmed the arms down so that the sleeves looked more like that of a flightsuit. While doing this, I removed the articulated hands, so as to avoid any unpleasant slips of the X-acto knife.
Step Three: I carefully cut the holster from the leg of the Bespin Capture Han Solo figure and super glued it to Corran's leg so that it lined up correctly with the belt on the figure.
Step Three: While painting the figure, I used green for the flightsuit with a bit of black for the area where the collar is folded down. The boots and gunbelt were painted black. The pistol grip of the blaster was painted a brown and the scope was painted gloss black. Corran's hair and beard were painted a very dark brown and then "aged" using white and grey paint.
Step Four: I used an Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber (since I have so many of them) and painted the blade silver. The hilt was detailed with black, aluminum, silver and a little bit of red for the activation button.
Step Five: Finally, I applied a coat of Testors Dull-Cote to protect the paint and reduce the shine.
