Anakin Solo (Human Jedi Knight)

This figure was based on Anakin's Jedi strike team uniform described in Star by Star. The recipe for this figure is almost identical to the one I used for my Jacen Solo Strike Team Member figure.

Parts: Head (Cale from TitanAE), Torso (Obi-Wan Kenobi in Jedi Armor), Arms (Obi-Wan Kenobi in Jedi Armor), Legs (Obi-Wan Kenobi in Jedi Armor), Lightsaber (any).

Supplies: Dremel, X-acto knife, emery board or file, super glue, brushes, Testors paints and Testors Dull-Cote.

Reference: Descriptions from the New Jedi Order novel Star by Star.

Step One: I used the Dremel to sand down the body, leaving the appearance of a lightly armored jumpsuit. Rough areas were smoothed out with an emery board.

Step Two: The boiling water method was used to swap the Obi-Wan head with the Cale head. The figure was then allowed to cool.

Step Three: I scrounged a couple of extra utility pouches from my parts box and carefully attached them to Anakin's belt with super glue. I also made the breath mask described in the novel by gluing a set of Chewbacca's welding goggles with the breath mask from a Ten Numb figure. The breath mask was then attached to the belt where he could easily reach it when needed.

Step Four: The hair was trimmed very short. This is because I wanted to use the same head for my Anakin figures and my Jacen figures. The modified hair makes them look different, yet similar, as brothers would.

Step Five: The jumpsuit was painted a light brown. The hands were painted black, as if Anakin is wearing gloves. The hair was painted a slightly lighter color than Han Solo's.

Step Six: Once the figure was dry, I dry-brushed a little bit of aluminum paint over the kneepads to show scrapes.

Step Seven: Finally, I applied a coat of Testors Dull-Cote to protect the paint and reduce the shine.
