FX-4B Medical Assistance Droid

Medical Droids greatly contribute to the combat readiness of New Republic military units by returning injured troops to full duty as quickly as possible. This FX-4B Medical Assistance Droid is assigned to help a 21-B treat patients in the medical bay of the New Republic cruiser Defiance. Since the introduction of the FX-5 and FX-7 units, this droid spends the majority of it's time deactivated and is only used during situations where there are a large number of casualties to be attended.

Parts: All (vintage FX-7).

Supplies: X-acto knife, super glue, file or sandpaper, brushes, Testors paints and Testors Dull-Cote.

Reference: Drawings from The Essential Guide to Droids and a bit of imagination. I wanted to be able to use the vintage FX-7 figures in the same diorama as the newer POTJ FX-7. So, I decided to convert the smaller vintage figures into "earlier" models of the same type of droid.

Step One: There was not very much changed on the base figure. I cut a wedge out of the main arm and used a bit of super glue to close it up. This caused the arm to be placed in a more "active" pose.

Step Two: I repainted the entire figure using various metallic colors.

Step Three: Last, I applied a light coat of Testors Dull-Cote to protect the paint and reduce the shiny appearance.
