The Z-19 welding droid is designed to provide assistance to a mechanic conducting welding tasks. It is also capable of performing minor welding tasks on its own.
Parts: POTF2 Treadwell Droid and various accessories from my parts box.
Supplies: Super glue, X-acto knife, brushes, Testors paints and Testors Dull-Cote.
Reference: Drawings from The Essential Guide to Droids, as well as various photos and descriptions.
Step One: This droid was given a new paint-job to begin with.
Step Two: After the paint dried, I added the welding tanks to the rear deck of the droid's base. The tanks are connected to the welder with a thin piece of tubing. I also added a wrench to the toolbox on the front of the droid's base.
Step Three: Next, I applied a light coat of Testors Dull-Cote to protect the paint and remove the shiny appearance.
Step Three: Finally, to show the wear and tear common to a Z-19, I added a lot of weathering and dirt.
