Parts: Head (Ketwol), Torso (Ketwol), Arms (Ketwol), Legs (Ketwol), Coat (Ketwol), Pants (Ketwol).
Supplies: X-Acto knife, super glue, file or emery board, brushes, Testors paints and Testors Dull-Cote.
Reference: Photo stills from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Step One: My reference picture shows Ketwol's horns angled upward, rather than the way the figure had them. I modified his horns by cutting them off and gluing them back on at a more accurate angle. A little sanding was required for them to look natural.
Step Two: The pants have way too much detail not to have a better paint job. I removed the pants from Ketwol's mechanical legs and painted a bit of detail on them. I made the upper parts darker brown and made the kneepads and belt buckle aluminum. The color scheme here is really a matter of preference.
Step Three: I did not make any major changes to the rest of the color scheme, I simply dry-brushed a bit of "dirt" and "sand" colors over his clothing.
Step Four: When dry, I applied a coat of Testors Dull-Cote to protect the paint and remove the shiny appearance.
