Ikrit (Kushiban Jedi Master)

A former apprentice of the Jedi Master Yoda, Ikrit journeyed to Yavin IV hundreds of years ago to break a Sith curse that held prisoner the souls of Massassi children. Upon arriving at the Palace of the Woolamander, Master Ikrit quickly realized that neither he, nor any adult, had the power to break the curse. He went to sleep to await the arrival of those who could help the children. Years later, Anakin Solo and his friend Tahiri Veila were drawn to the temple by strange dreams. Arriving at the palace, they met Master Ikrit and were later able to break the curse with his guidance. Ikrit remained on Yavin IV, assisting with the instruction of young Jedi candidates at the Jedi Academy. When the Peace Brigade attacked the academy in order to capture the Jedi students for the Yuuzhan Vong, Ikrit and Anakin provided a distraction so that the Jedi students could be evacuated. During the evacuation, Master Ikrit was struck by several laser bolts and killed.

Parts: The only part used was a very small resin cast cat that I got at a local hobby shop.

Supplies: Dremel, X-acto knife, Super Sculpey, emery board or file, Testors Dull-Cote, Paints and Brushes.

Reference: Descriptions from Greg Keyes' Edge of Victory I: Conquest and cover paintings from the Young Jedi Knights novel series.

Step One: I used the dremel and the file to sand down the facial features so that they more closely matched the picture I have of Master Ikrit.

Step Two: Using Super Sculpey, I added the long floppy ears and the tail. I cured the figure and allowed it to cool.

Step Three: Using the X-acto Knife, I scratched the Sculpey so that it had a texture matching the existing fur on the rest of the figure.

Step Four: Next, I painted the figure according to the reference pictures.

Step Five: Finally, I applied a coat of Testors Dull-Cote to protect the paint and reduce the shiny appearance.
