Jaina Solo (Jedi Knight)

Jaina Solo, the daughter of Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo, began her Jedi training at the age of two along with her twin brother, Jacen. Given her family lineage, it was understood from the start that Jaina would grow to be a powerful Jedi. This is Jaina at the beginning of the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Parts: head (Ewok Celebration Leia), Torso (New-likeness Leia), Arms (New-likeness Leia), Legs (Adi Gallia), Lightsaber (any purple lightsaber).

Supplies: X-acto knife, emery board or file, brushes, Testors paints and Testors Dull-Cote.

Reference: I took numerous references of Jaina in her early teens and estimated her appearance at 17 or 18 years of age (around the time of Darktide I: Onslaught and Darktide II: Ruin).

Step One: I separated and then reassembled the necessary parts using the boiling water method.

Step Two: Using the X-acto knife and file, I modified the hair and cheekbones enough that it did not look exactly like Leia anymore.

Step Three: Because the figure was so tall, I cut the boots off, shortened them and glued them back on.

Step Four: Next, I painted the figure. When it was dry, I applied a coat of Testors Dull-Cote.

  1. I'm not to wild about this head. I go the grandparent route with the Solo kids as opposed to the parent route. Added benefit is that Kiera Knightly is close enough to Natalie Portman in action figures that they can be used interchangably. Plus it's a lot easier to find PotC stuff than excess SW Padme.

  2. Paul, you're probably right. I agree with you on the Elizabeth Swann head. The only problem is that this figure was made before the release of the 2nd and 3rd PotC films. The best part about re-posting all of this stuff is that I am identifying a LOT of things on my older figures that I now want to improve upon.
