Mara Jade (The Emperor's Hand)

Mara Jade was originally trained as Emperor Palpatine's personal assassin. Known as the Emperor's Hand, she rarely failed a mission. One mission that she did fail was to kill Luke Skywalker. Following Palpatine's death, Mara became associated with the smuggler Talon Karrde, rising to the number two position in his organization. On occasion, she and Karrde would lend assistance to the New Republic.

Parts: Head (Mara Jade), Torso (Mara Jade), Arms (Mara Jade), Legs (Mara Jade), Cape (Princess Leia Organa), Blaster (Mara Jade), Lightsaber (Mara Jade).
Supplies: X-acto knife, Emery board or file, Testor's Dull-Cote, Paints and Brushes.

Step One: Using the X-acto knife, I trimmed down the collar of the cape so that it fit properly around Mara's neck.

Step Two: I painted the cape a light tan, to match the reference photo.

Step Three (Optional): I decide that I wanted Mara to ba able to hold the lightsaber with two hands. I accomplished this by filing away part of the torso under each arm, thereby changing the angle they were attached to the body.

Step Four: Using the X-acto knife, I trimmed the blaster down so that when glued in place, it appears to be holstered.

Step Five: I applied a coat of Testor's Dull-Cote to protect the paint and reduce the shiny appearance.
